Location
For visitors travelling by car, Appin is on the road between Oban and Fort William. The entrance to Kinlochlaich Garden Centre is signposted beside the Police Station on the main road 300 metres north of the Port Appin junction.
From Glasgow drive beside Loch Lomond on A82. Continue on A82 through Crianlarich. From Edinburgh and Stirling, take M9 then A84 through Callander and A85 through Crianlarich. Turn right at Tyndrum towards Fort William. At Glencoe/Ballachulish roundabout, take A828 south towards Oban. Appin is 15 miles. From Oban, Appin is 18 miles.
For visitors coming from the South who wish to avoid Glasgow, particularly on a Saturday, we recommend the M74 and M80 past Stirling and then the A84 through Callander. For detailed travel information, visit the AA Route Planner
Buses also run from Glasgow and Edinburgh to both Oban and Fort William operated by Citylink. There are also between 2 and 4 buses a day between Oban and Fort William, which stop by the Police Station at the bottom of our drive, by request.
